From The New York Times:
The Mediterranean Diet slashed cardiovascular risk factors by 30% in people who consume olive oil, beans, nuts, fish, fruits, vegetables and red wine on a regular basis. The findings, published on The New England Journal of Medicine’s Web site, were based on the first major clinical trial to measure the diet’s effect on heart risks.
The study followed 7,447 subjects in Spain who were overweight, were smokers, or had diabetes or other risk factors to follow either the Mediterranean diet or a low-fat one. Not only was the Mediterranean Diet more effective at reducing risks, but was easier to follow and significantly more enjoyable.
Greens Plus offers several products perfectly suited for the Mediterranean Diet, including Wild Berry Burst (equivalent to 5 servings of Fruits and Veggies), Energy Bars (equivalent to 3 servings of Fruits and Nuts), and Resveratrol Plus (equivalent to 10 glasses of Red Wine).
