How to Stay Active on the Weekends

Electric shock therapy, arctic “ice bath”, and 11 miles of fun. Can you think of a better way to spend your weekend?

tough mudder, exercise, employee exerciseOn Sunday May 19th, my husband, mom and I participated in the Jacksonville Tough Mudder. As we recited the Tough Mudder Creed, I was a bundle of nerves. A million thoughts went running through my head. Am I strong enough? Will I finish? Is this worth a T-Shirt, orange head band and cold beer?

The answer to the last question is a definite yes! I started the day off right. I knew I needed to nourish myself properly in order to perform my best. I had my oatmeal mixed with Greens+ Chia seeds and a Greens+ Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Vegan Crisp bar.

Each obstacle on the course presented both a physical and mental challenge. I was determined to make it.

The event was challenging, exhilarating and rewarding. Tough Mudder is all about finishing. I had chosen two awesome people to accompany me and we finished strong. I wore my headband to work with pride on Monday. This girl is now one Tough Mudder!
