Stress. We all have it. Some more than others. It can be caused by our jobs, family, money, hormones etc. We’re all going to stress in some way shape or form at points in our lives. But wouldn’t it be nice to minimize our stress and learn how to make it more manageable?

1. Dance. You may be thinking, I’m not a dancer. Good news is, you don’t have to be. Hear a song you like? Get your groove on. If dancing does not work for you any form of exercise will do. You could even give Zumba or Jazzercise a try.

2. Go for a walk. Get some fresh air. Sunlight is proven to help with anxiety-driven stress.

3. Talk about it. Confide in your loved ones or friends. Simply getting your frustrations off your chest can instantly make you feel better.

4. Breathe. Feeling overwhelmed? It’s amazing what deep breaths can do to eliminate your tension.

5. Go to bed on time. Proper sleep is KEY. Aim for the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep every night. When you wake up feeling well-rested your day will run with that much more ease.

6. Focus on what you can control. I was once told worrying is like a down payment on a car you do not have. Focus on what is in your control. Worrying about what cannot be controlled does nothing for you.

7. Reminisce about the good times. No need to get nostalgic. Tell a story about your favorite memory. Laugh a little.

8. Ask for a hug. There are times when nothing is more comforting than the touch of another and the warmth of a hug.

9. Smile. Everyone can smile, so start doing it more.
