Greens+ had the pleasure of interviewing the beautiful and very talented actress Charlotte Salt. She has held roles in Entourage, Wildfire, CSI and the movie Beowulf and her latest project is a role in The Emmy winning show The Tudors playing Lady Ursula Missledon.
Charlotte, with your busy schedule and with traveling quite often, what are important factors in keeping up your health and energy?
C: Traveling is always exhausting no matter what, but I take great care in compensating for the stressful, uncomfortable environment that my body and skin has to endure; whilst flying I alway stay hydrated and avoid caffeine at all costs, I find sleep the best solution to most situations and I take arnica throughout long journeys to prevent achey muscles due to uncomfortable sitting positions and lack of movement…and I’m always munching away on Greens+ Energy Bars to avoid packaged food that lugs at your digestive system sapping your energy.
Do you exercise? If so what is your regimen?
C: I love to feel fit and healthy. I walk when ever I can and avoid the car as much as possible. I truly believe being active throughout the day is the key to a healthy weight and appetite. In addition, I power walk or run depending on my mood, but my favorite is power yoga. There is nothing like generating a good flow to get your energy moving, keep your body tight and lean and stretch out those aches.
What is your dietary regimen like? Do you take supplements?
C: I eat a variety of foods, the more color the better. I love to peruse the local farmer markets when I’m not working and buy seasonal foods. I avoid processed ‘dead’ food at all costs even when tempted by convenience. I eat fresh and organic as much as possible especially when it comes to meat and dairy. I also try to keep my wheat intake low, opting instead for spelt, rye and quinoa grains. For extra energy, I love to whip up a green shake with a scoop of Greens+ powder to get all my vitamins and minerals. I also add a high quality fish oil and add additional supplements depending on how I feel. When I fancy something sweet I whip up a fruit smoothie or I love Taza stone ground chocolate. I substitute sugar when ever possible for agave syrup.
How do you keep your skin so healthy looking and radiant?
C: I am always changing my beauty regime as I love products so much and of course am always looking for new material for my Blog but as a rule I look for products that are organic and free of any nasties such as parabens.
Any inspirational thoughts or words of wisdom you would like to share with readers?
C: Mae West once said “You only live once, but if you do it properly, once is enough”
