Lee of Atlanta, who authors “In My Tummy.” Lee writes on her “About Me” page that she has battled with weight issues and diet since she was in junior high. At one point, she lost 35 pounds and then decided she was overly concerned with what she was eating. Lee backed off and regained 15 pounds. In late 2006, she began blogging while training for long-distance running. Please see her first post about Chia.

A mom in the Northeast, who authors “Lil Runner“. She completed the Boston Marathon just 10 weeks after giving birth to her son. She writes because, as she says in her “About Me” page, “I also have an interest in food blogs and while I am staying home with my baby, I have taken more time to buy and make healthy foods. You will see some food posts here and random musings as I go about my life, transitioning through different phases of life.” Check out her first post about Chia.

Emily, who describes herself as a “a 26-year-old newlywed who recently gained too much weight after getting married.” She writes in “Homecookedem” about finding the right balance of healthy foods, proper weight and personal happiness. “Please join me as I highlight unique homecookedem meals, reflect on thoughts I have, and give thanks for all that I have,” she writes on her “About Me” page. Please see Emily’s first post on our Chia.

Dr. Oz is again talking on the Oprah Winfrey Show about chia as a source of Omega-3, fiber and vitamins. Greens+ offers organically grown chia that is free of pesticides, herbicides and gluten. Continue reading →

If you did not have the chance on July 14 to see Dr. Oz on the Oprah Winfrey Show, he was talking again about the health benefits of chia. In a segment on how to fight the effects of aging, he discussed the best ways to get fiber into the diet. Here’s what he had to say about chia:

“Chia is as chock full of fiber as other whole grains, but it packs in even more vitamins. Remember that broccoli I had before? [One of these muffins] has more magnesium than about 10 of those heads of broccoli, and it’s got as much calcium in it as a couple cups of milk. It adds one other thing, too, by the way. It’s very rich in the next big category, which are omega-3 fatty acids.”

Greens+ offers chia for its high anti-oxidant and dietary fiber content. The natural product is also a good source of Omega-3, calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron zinc and other minerals. Chia (pronounced chee’ah), is the richest and only unprocessed, whole food source of pure Omega3. A member of the mint family, chia is native to Central America and has been used traditionally for over 3,000 years.

Chia can be added to foods such as cereal, soup, salad, yogurt smoothies and baked goods. Dr. Oz has a special recipe for pumpkin chia seed muffins.

Omega3 Chia is available in both a one-pound container and in stick packs, which are ideal for students, busy moms and rushed workers. You mix one packet with 12 ounces of lemonade, thin juice or other beverage for a refreshing, performance-enhancing energy drink.
